You'll need:
Cut stars from plastic icing - painted yellow. But figurines to match size of cake (can be made if you have some spare time). Use cardboard for planet ring (painted with orange icing and sprinkled with coloured coconut for texture).
Make cake a day before. Turn upside down to form a crater type shape, trim where needed. Put a jam, jelly or similar layer over cake - it stops crumbs from lifting. Colour all icing to specific colour - enough to cover cake. Cover cake with icing, tuck slightly underneath, smooth, make crater holes with back of round object, stick stars and figures.
Prepare cardboard circle to size of planet, ice and sprinkle with coconut while wet. Hold up with toothpicks on sides with icing to match colour.
Make letters with coloured chocolate from letter mould. Ready to present to birthday boy or girl.
