Divorce cake below has sparked some controversy. There are people out there who are upset and mad at me for putting it up on the website. To me that's taking things a little too serious.
Yes, there is a suggestion that the 'groom' has been viciously attacked (even beheaded) with 'blood' flowing on the side of the cake. I absolutely do NOT encourage such cruel actions. But it is just a cake! Let's lighten up a bit.
Divorce is challenging time in a person's life. There are a lot of unpleasant feelings in the moment right now. Plus a lot of uncertainty for the future. I see this cake as a chance to put some humor into a difficult situation. Even if it could change someone's state for a few minutes, to me it's all worth it...
So if you're having a divorce party, give this cake a try! It will get some interesting comments from the guests. But I'm certain it will help produce some laughs and excitement, guaranteed!

For this cake I used the basic store bought chocolate cake mix from the grocery store. I followed the decorations from the box for mixing and baking.
For decorating I used a basic Wilton white buttercream recipe, and a Big shell tip for border. For the toper I used my topper from my original wedding cake. I cut the groom's head off and put it at the bottom of the cake.
Then used jar of cherry sauce (the kind you use for ice cream) to drizzle down the side of the cake as blood. I bought a champagne bottle candle and cut it in a gagged fashion to make it look like the bride hit the groom with it.
