Cake submitted by Jill N. from Grand Junction, CO

Bake one 9 X 13" cake, any flavor you wish. Freeze it, then frost it white, and add white piping along the edges. Pipe a red strawberry in the middle, with a green top for the leaves.
Add white, red and green polka dots and the birthday girl's name and age. Great for a Strawberry Shortcake party!
Cake submitted by Jennifer M. from Folsom, CA

I used 8x3" pans for this cake, as well as a 6" round pan. (After baking and letting cake cool, I freeze it so it's easier to lay fondant as it becomes moist.)
I made buttercream frosting out of Veggie Crisco, powdered sugar, clear vanilla extract, milk, and a little bit of water.
Mix half of a 2 lb. bag of powdered sugar, two cups of Veggie Crisco, 2 tsp. of clear vanilla extract, about a tbsp. of milk, and about 4 tbsp. of water.
These ingredients should be smooth and creamy when the process is complete. If the consistency is off, keep adding additional water until it is right. I had to do this a few times.
Before I laid the fondant, I had to dye it pink and yellow. When this was complete, I decorated it with white frosting and star candles. The candles can be found at Michael's in the cake decorating section.
