Cake submitted by Aimee B. from St Michaels, MD
I used 1 box of cake mix, and followed instructions on the box for a 9x13" pan. After it cooled, I cut the cake into 3 rectangles.
I iced the cake with a homemade buttercream frosting. Then I applied a crumb coating. I used neon food coloring to dye the teal frosting.
With a star tip, I covered the van leaving space to add the other designs. Using my son's toy as a guide I used a flat tip to make the green (neon food coloring) background, and smoothed it over with my finger.
I used the star tip to make the windows with frosting. I used Oreos for the tires. With a small round tip, I piped orange frosting to make the words and flowers. I finished off the cake with a dab of white frosting in the center of the flowers.
The finished Scooby Doo birthday cake was a huge hit!
