Starbucks Cake

I made this Starbucks cake that looks like a Starbucks to go coffee cup for a lady who loves her coffee!!! The entire cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting.
The bottom square cake was fairly easy to make. I layered the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and then covered in white fondant. I painted the whole thing with a broad food safe paint brush to make it look like wood grain.
The cup itself was also red velvet cake layered with cream cheese frosting then carved to give it the tapered "cup" look. I then covered it in white fondant and added some white fondant accents to make it look more like a cup with a lid.
I cut out a brown strip of fondant and attached it to the cup to act as the "cardboard heat protector". I then stuck the Starbucks logo onto it. I made the Milk holder and the Sweet N Low packet out of fondant as well making sure to paint it the very same colours and designs as the original thing.
I also made the napkin and added the grainy texture using a mat and added the logo on the corner. I had a cup, sugar packet, milk holder, and a napkin with me for reference.
Tip: When decorating, use pictures of actual Starbucks things (cups, holders, etc.) for guidance. You can easily find those pictures on the internet. Or, you can use the real thing.
Working with fondant takes some practice. Don't get discouraged if decorating with it doesn't turn out the way you want the first time around. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
The Starbucks cake was very well received. I hope you like it as much as I liked making it!
