My granddaughter's 8th birthday party was a tea party for 7 little girls.
The teapot was made with a Classic Wonder Mold pan by cutting off the very top. The cups were made with Mini Wonder Mold, and were leveled off. I frosted everything with buttercream frosting.
The saucers were made by melting candy wafers of different colors. Pour the melted mixture on regular saucers. After hardening, remove and decorate edges with frosting.
The teapot spout and handle, teacup handles, napkins, polka dots and rims are all made of fondant. The spoons were real. I dipped them in the melted candy and tied ribbons to them.
The table was covered with polka dotted wrapping paper. We had real polka dotted tea cups and plates for the girls to drink from.

This cake was made for my mother in laws birthday. She loved it. The cake in white and cover in fondant. I used a ball cake pan to make the tea pot. I cut and shape it before covering it.
The handle and spout was made from gum paste. I shaped them two days before and let them dry. The cups are also made from gum paste. I made them a week ahead of time. I also made a spoon out of gum past. There are also two little sugar cubes made out of gum paste. You have to the make sure you let every thing dry or it will break.
Fondant is hard to work with, but there is a secret to working with fondant. Put it in a baggy and then place it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. It makes the fondant soft and easy to work with. Just don't work with too much at a time. Try this and have fun.
